Extending Learning Beyond the Classroom

Clayton County Public Schools is excited to announce that this Friday, April 1, 2022 is the 9th Extended Learning Beyond the Classroom (ELBC) Day for 2021-2022. All Callaway Knights will remain home for asynchronous (independent) learning, while staff will be immersed in training, lesson planning, and data analysis.

Important: This is a learning day. All assignments for Grades K-5 are due April 11, 2022 (Monday) when students return to the building from Spring Break. It is important that students engage in the learning process while away from the classroom. It is also important to note that ELBC assignments are not optional and all tasks will be graded and entered into Infinite Campus. No child's grade should suffer because they failed to complete the given assignment on Friday. As always, let's continue to support our students as a team working in partnership with the home and school!

School issued laptops for Grades 3-5 students will not be sent home with students as we prepare to update student computers for end of the year testing. As stated above, all K-5 students will bring home paper packets with their ELBC tasks.

If you have any questions about assignments please contact your child's teacher. The directions will be provided with each grade level task. The tasks are as follows:

K- DIY Diorama Habitat
1st- Plant Survival
2nd- Force and Motion
3rd- The Grand Canyon
4th- Water Cycle in a Bag
5th- STEM Scavenger Hunt (Part 2)

All tasks are hands-on activities that relate to STEM learning that uses scientific inquiry based skills and thinking. Parents, we would love for you to take pictures and share with teachers of your scholars creating and innovating on Friday.

Parents, we thank you for your support of our efforts to promote higher learning beyond the classroom!
