The Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) Teacher of the Year program is a prestigious annual award that recognizes educators who demonstrate exceptional leadership, innovation, and a profound commitment to student success.

Selection Process & Recognition

The program follows a tiered selection process designed to highlight excellence at every level of the district:

  • School Level: Each school within the district first selects its own individual Teacher of the Year.

  • District Level: These school-level winners then compete for the title of District Teacher of the Year through a series of evaluations and interviews.

  • Celebration: The winners are typically honored at a formal gala, such as the "Legacy of Excellence" event, which celebrates top employees across various categories, including Principals and Support Leaders.
